Criteria
for Admissions / Eligibility
Requirements:
-
Complete written
letter of admission
-
18 years and older with
a primary alcohol or drug
problem
-
Committed to work on a
job in exchange for treatment
-
Highly motivated to complete
Synergy’s 1-year
structured program
Long Term Treatment is strongly
recommended for individuals
who chronically abuse or
are dependent on alcohol
or drugs. The longer an
individual remains in treatment
the greater the likelihood
of long-term recovery.
Can I communicate with family
while in treatment?
Upon admission, a client
can contact family members
to explain that they have
been admitted to Synergy.
After three months in treatment,
clients can begin to write
and receive mail from family
and friends.
After four months, clients
are allowed to make scheduled
phone calls.
After 10 ½ months,
clients are eligible for
passes to leave the premises.
These begin as 4 hour passes
and work up to 72 hours.
In the event of an emergency,
client families can contact
Synergy or the resident's
counselor.
What can I expect?
After admission, clients
enter Phase I for approximately
the first six weeks.
During Phase 1, clients
will have group therapy,
individual sessions and
meetings during the day
and in the evenings.
When ready, clients move
into Phase II, the Work
Therapy Phase.
Clients are placed in a
community job or in one
of our owned and operated
businesses where they will
work approximately 35-40
hours per week for their
remaining time in treatment.
Groups, individual sessions
and meetings are held every
evening and on weekends.
Although Synergy does not
have a rigid, hospital-like
schedule, time is very carefully
structured. Days and weeks
follow a set routine. Staff
are always available to
tell clients exactly what
is expected of them and
what to do next.
Most
importantly, you can expect
to learn the skills to maintain
a lifetime of sobriety.
