Can I get treatment?
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a primary alcohol or drug problem and a sincere desire to overcome it
  • Must be willing to abide by all rules of Synergy’s program
  • Must follow individual treatment plan
  • Must be medically fit to work in a job in exchange for room, board, and treatment
  • Must not have a history of violent crimes
  • Must not have a history of mental illness

How much does it cost?

  • We do not require money or insurance for admission. Synergy is a FREE program.
  • Residents work in exchange for their room, board, and clinical treatment.
  • Residents do not receive a pay and/or income for services; in turn the employer will pay Synergy Treatment Centers. Residents will not have any reportable income while at Synergy .
  • The first six weeks is funded by the state. Residents do not work during this time.
  • Synergy receives additional funding through federal, state and local grants and private donations to help cover the additional cost to provide treatment.

Criteria for Admissions / Eligibility Requirements:

  • Complete written letter of admission
  • 18 years and older with a primary alcohol or drug problem
  • Committed to work on a job in exchange for treatment
  • Highly motivated to complete Synergy’s 1-year structured program

Long Term Treatment is strongly recommended for individuals who chronically abuse or are dependent on alcohol or drugs. The longer an individual remains in treatment the greater the likelihood of long-term recovery.

Can I communicate with family while in treatment?

Upon admission, a client can contact family members to explain that they have been admitted to Synergy.

After three months in treatment, clients can begin to write and receive mail from family and friends.

After four months, clients are allowed to make scheduled phone calls.

After 10 ½ months, clients are eligible for passes to leave the premises. These begin as 4 hour passes and work up to 72 hours.

In the event of an emergency, client families can contact Synergy or the resident's counselor.

What can I expect?

After admission, clients enter Phase I for approximately the first six weeks.

During Phase 1, clients will have group therapy, individual sessions and meetings during the day and in the evenings.

When ready, clients move into Phase II, the Work Therapy Phase.

Clients are placed in a community job or in one of our owned and operated businesses where they will work approximately 35-40 hours per week for their remaining time in treatment.

Groups, individual sessions and meetings are held every evening and on weekends.

Although Synergy does not have a rigid, hospital-like schedule, time is very carefully structured. Days and weeks follow a set routine. Staff are always available to tell clients exactly what is expected of them and what to do next.

Most importantly, you can expect to learn the skills to maintain a lifetime of sobriety.

How do I apply?

A written letter of request is all that is needed. The letter should include:

  • Drug and Alcohol History- what drug(s)/ alcohol are used and for how long
  • Legal and Criminal History- what crime and when it occurred, whether or not they are on probation or parole, and if there are cases pending
  • Medical History- list past/ present medical history and medications prescribed
  • Psychiatric History- list any diagnosis, medications prescribed in the past or current, and any treatment (inpatient, outpatient, or detox)
  • Brief Summary- state why long term treatment is desired. Please include name, address, and phone number in order to be contacted
